The Employability and Partnerships Team are here to support you throughout out your school based training. You can find us in the Charles Street building, please ask for us at the helpdesk on the first floor.
Our aim is for all trainees to have an enjoyable and successful placement experience.
We oversee in excess of 1400 placements for trainee Secondary teachers each year and are in partnership with schools across South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and neighbouring counties. It is our job to be the first point of contact for trainees who are on placement and the services we offer, alongside academic colleagues and Student Support, include:
- Liaising with schools to source placement opportunities
- Allocating trainees to schools
- Finding out about trainees personal circumstances in relation to placement allocations
- Manage absences whilst on placement
- Collecting placement assessment grades
- Advising trainees who are struggling on placement
- Processing travel expenses for trainees on placement
The Employability and Partnerships Team are already working hard securing placement opportunities for our trainees next year. Please help us to help you by completing the Secondary-Trainee information for placement 2017/18 as soon as possible. Without this information we cannot arrange your placements. If you have already supplied this information online by completing the Google form for the pre-arrival day then you don’t need to do it again, however, for everyone else you will need to complete the placement form online.
