Here is a message from the Programme Leaders, Fiona Leonard and Heather Wain.  The Programme covers all Secondary routes in all subject areas.

Congratulations on securing your offer of a place on a teacher training course at or in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.  You are joining one of the largest and most trusted teacher-training providers in the UK and will be supported by a team of staff with considerable experience and expertise.  We very much believe that there are many different types of people who have the potential to become outstanding teachers and as such offer a variety of routes into teaching including:

• 3Yr BSc  (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status
• PGCE
• PGCE School Direct Training
• PGCE School Direct Salaried
• SCITT (School Based Initial Teacher Education)
• Teach First

A key aspect of the courses at Sheffield Hallam University is the collaborative relationships which we have established with our partner schools colleges and academies. We work together to develop courses which effectively integrate educational theory and practice.  Whichever course you have chosen, we look forward to supporting you in becoming a thoughtful, reflective and creative teacher. Your experience on the course will be intense and demanding but also rewarding and never boring and ultimately we hope that you will become a part of the next generation of newly qualified teachers who will make a positive impact on the lives and hopes of young people in the region and in the UK.

In preparation for the course, please take time to read any materials which have been posted on this site specifically for new students and for your course as they contain important information to prepare you for life at Sheffield Hallam and your chosen course.

Some of the information will require a response from you prior to the start of your course, so please respond promptly as failure to do so will result in your enrolment being delayed.
