  1. Vitae 3MT® Final – live streamed on Wednesday 16 September 12:00 – 13:00

A reminder that you can register to view the live stream of the Vitae UK final of the 3 Minute Thesis competition and vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice Award.  We plan to run the competition at SHU again next year so this is a good way to pick up some tips and think about how you could talk about your research in an engaging and accessible way.

  1. Drop-in PGR Virtual Café – Fridays 10:00 – 11:00 (new start time)

The Doctoral School drop-in PGR Virtual Café is running every Friday morning.  The aim is to offer more virtual spaces for informal catch ups with community peers.  You can drop in for a short time or stay for the whole session between 10.00 and 11.00 am on Friday mornings to say “hi”, share ideas and experiences or just have a chat with other PGR students.  It’s a very relaxed space so don’t be afraid to join in, everyone is very welcome.  We are looking at the possibility of theming the sessions, so if you have any ideas about things you’d like to discuss, please let us know.  It could be related to research, wellbeing, hobbies – or your guilty TV pleasure (a great way of getting a chat started).

Check your RESEARCH DEGREES email for the joining link or contact doctoralschool@shu.ac.uk
