Skills Centre: Stats Support – Introduction to Hypothesis Testing

This workshop gives an introduction to the terminology used in inferential statistics to enable you to interpret the results of your analysis or just be able to understand statistical results in literature you read. We will cover all the steps of carrying out a hypothesis test including p-values, statistical significance, confidence intervals, effect sizes and checking the assumption of normality.  We cover Chi-squared tests and t-tests as examples during this workshop.  The workshop is available to all students and staff at Sheffield Hallam.
