Supporting Students from Diverse Backgrounds

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SESSION IS INTENDED FOR I2RI STAFF ONLY

The session will be explore how supervisors can support students from diverse backgrounds (Home, International, FT, PT, diverse prior experience and aims) including an introduction to the different modes of doctoral study

The following topics will be covered in the session:

• Current student make up across the institute;
• Discussion on possible issues which can arise for doctoral students which may need support;
• Case study discussion to highlight issues which have arisen or areas of support needed and supervisors discuss what they would do in these situations.
• Discussions on how we can ensure our PGR student body is diverse and supportive for all.

This session will be run as a Hybrid Session with Tea and Biscuits supplied for those on site.
