SERI: Writing your RF2 – A Workshop

23 June 2023 @ 10:00 - 16:00

EVENT FOR SERI STUDENTS

In a nutshell, the aim of this one-day workshop is to support you to write your RF2 report.  The workshop will comprise various hands-on learning activities such as small group discussion, analysis of textual samples, short periods of writing, and peer feedback.  While the genre in focus is the RF2 report, participants will gain insights and techniques that they can transfer to other doctoral writing contexts.

The workshop is led by Dr Lisa McGrath.  Lisa is Associate Professor in Educational Linguistics at the SIoE and editor of the SIoE blog.  Her area of expertise is writing in the academy, and she has published multiple papers on the topic in journals such as Applied Linguistics, English for Specific Purposes, Teaching in Higher Education and Higher Education.  She is an editorial board member of the Journal of English for Academic Purposes and is currently editing a special issue of the Journal of Second Language Writing.  Lisa teaches writing for publication at the SIoE and for external clients.

This sessions is aimed at SERI PGRs coming up to the confirmation stage.

Pre-booking is required and SERI students should do this via https://forms.office.com/e/8kfkjHFjGY
