SHSU Postgrad society | renew your membership and consider joining the committee

With the new academic year starting on the 1st September the Students’ Union society memberships are all removed and we have to start fresh. So it is important that students continuing their postgrad studies in the autumn rejoin the society now: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/soc/prss/  With the beginning of the new academic year we will also hold a committee election. PhD students interesting in taking over the running of the society and nominating themselves for the post of President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Equality & Diversity officer are welcomed and encouraged to email Elin and Rose for further info: pgresearchsociety@gmail.com

Focus Thursday weekly 9:30am – 11:30am

Join us for some productivity and friendly chats on Zoom. We work in 30 minute periods, with 5-10 minutes for chat inbetween.

Inside Academia – new series 3 article

The Inside Academia platform was developed to help illuminate, describe, and navigate some of the issues that can impact the mental and physical health of students, researchers and academics. In their article series, members of the academic community describe the experiences they came up against how it affected them physically, mentally and emotionally, and how they overcame such experiences.

The latest article ‘A COVID-19 experience in a home away from home, away from home’ was written by Dustin Oranchuk and you can read it here: https://www.insideacademia.co.uk/articles/ahomeawayfromhome-awayfromhome
