Charlotte Hardcastle

Inspirational Individual Award

What they did:

As a higher apprenticeship this learner has engaged with education again for the first time in over 20 years and has demonstrated a positive attitude throughout her journey in year 1. Study skills have been embraced and feedforward comments have been applied to ensure learning and formative assessments are being improved. Confidence has also improved throughout the journey as a result of actively engaging in all the different modules and teaching and learning strategies. This learner has also actively encouraged, supported and inspired a fellow apprenticeship during semester 1 of the programme. All of this whilst balancing full time work and juggling the commitments that come with having a family. A very good start to your HE journey that has been inspirational to others around you and therefore should be recognised.

What was the impact?

Positive grades in semester 1 assessments
up to date with apprenticeship standards and well on the way to signing off parts of her portfolio supported peers have also had positive grades and remain focused on the course despite previous wobbles.

How it inspired others

This learner is a very good role model to have in the group for all the reasons said in the ‘what did they do’ section. This positivity does rub off on other people.
