Doctoral School Welcome Meeting for new PGR students

A welcome session for all doctoral research students beginning their studies in October 2022 (or who missed a previous session)

We would like to invite you to the University-wide welcome session hosted by the Doctoral School which is taking place on Thursday 13 October, 1200 – 1330 virtually via Zoom. This session will be held online and will be informal, with the chance for you to ‘meet’ some of the staff who will be supporting your studies at the University. This will be the first session in a series of 4 which will also cover Ethics, Working with your Supervisor and Personal Development Planning. We will advertise the dates and booking links for the subsequent sessions shortly.

This session is for all new-starting PhD and Professional Doctorate researchers. M by Res and LLM candidates are also very welcome to attend.

It is principally aimed at researchers starting from October 2022, but anyone who enrolled from May 2022 onwards who missed the previous induction session is also welcome.

All new PhD and Professional Doctorate researchers at Sheffield Hallam University are required to attend an induction event.

– Being a doctoral student at SHU – sharing expectations

– Connecting with the SHU doctoral community

Please note that this event is only open to students who have been offered and accepted a place to study at SHU.  Invitations to attend will be sent out by the Doctoral School
