CCRI: RF1 Workshop
16 November 2023 @ 10:00 - 12:00
The Application for Approval of Research Programme (RF1) is the point at which the university formally approves a candidate’s registration. The RF1 form is submitted 3 months after the date of registration, or 6 months if a student is registered part time. The purpose of the RF1 is to review and approve the content, clarity of aims, governance and feasibility of the proposed research, to confirm the full supervisory team, and to check that a student’s training needs are being properly considered.
We will use this workshop to:
- discuss how best to approach the RF1
- go through the main sections of the RF1 form
- explain how it will be assessed
- help identify and work through any challenges or concerns, especially around facilities or support for the programme and training opportunities
This session is part of the CCRI PGR Rolling Induction series, which is designed to complement the induction events offered by the Doctoral School.
The workshop will focus on the specific characteristics of PhD-level work in the Creative Arts, Humanities and Media/Communication.
Preparation work required:
- Download the RF1 form from the Research Degrees Blackboard site. If you have been working on a draft of the RF1 with your supervisors, please bring this with you.
- Download the CCRI RF1 Guide from the CCRI Blackboard site and read before the session. Write down any queries or questions you want to ask.
Open to newly enrolled CCRI PGRs who are approaching RF1 stage, and their Directors of Study.
CCRI are providing the booking link directly to CCRI PGRs approaching RF1 stage, and their Directors of Study.
