We Are SBS |
“These students showed outstanding levels of support during the tragic circumstances around their fellow student, James Walton’s death. James was a Languages student who passed away during his placement year in Spain in March 2018. The students were close friends of his and some worked alongside him on placement too. Their reaction was truly remarkable and heart-warming. They all rallied round James’s Mum and Uncle, providing them with support that goes on to this day. They have kept in touch with them, attended charity events held in James’s name and more. James received a posthumous Diploma in HE which was collected by his Mum at the November 2018 graduation ceremony. The students accompanied James’s Mum and Uncle to the event, and celebrated James’s graduation together with other Language staff and students. They made a great, uplifting celebration event of the day for James’s family. ” |
