Doctoral researchers and supervisors have been invited to contribute to a UK-wide study of doctoral supervision, led by the University of Sheffield.
The Trust Me! project is investigating how trust is a component of ‘quality’ doctoral supervision relationships, and they are interested in hearing about researchers’ experiences.
The project is gathering data from several UK universities via stories posted as anonymous comments on their blog site here. Researchers can add their own experiences via the blog. Comments are moderated to ensure anonymity, and can be added until 5pm on Friday 30th September. The blog also has a project updates section which shares findings in progress.
Through these collated perceptions of doctoral students and supervisors of what constitutes quality in doctoral supervision relationships, the project aims to create practical tools to support academic relationship building.
The project is funded by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, and Dr Kay Guccione at the University of Sheffield is the principal investigator. Full participant information can be found here.
