As a celebration of The National Tree Charter, we would like to host a Trees and People PubhD special on Wednesday 6 November, 7-9 pm. At this event, we hope to celebrate all things trees/nature/sustainability related through how they are represented in different research areas.
For those of you unfamiliar with our events, PubhD Sheffield has a very relaxed format. At each event, three PhD students or early career researchers are invited to a pub, to explain their work to a public audience. They have just 10 minutes to talk about their research, with a whiteboard/flip chart, some pens and a drink of their choice to aid them, which is followed by up to 20 minutes of friendly Q&A and discussion with the audience.
For speakers, it’s a great opportunity to try communicating research to non-specialists, and for the audience it’s a relaxed way to learn about current research within Sheffield’s universities.
If this sounds like something you might like to get involved in, we would very much like to hear from you. If you cannot make the above date, we run our events monthly, and would also welcome you to talk at any of our events between November-July. You can find out more info at the links in our email signature below.
Thanks!
