The third Health & Wellbeing Doctoral Symposium promises to be an exciting afternoon focusing on current research within our doctoral community. The event is open to all faculty staff and doctoral students and is free of charge.
The theme for this year’s doctoral symposium is ‘Catalyst for Change’ and is centred around the real world impact of the research being pioneered by the Health and Wellbeing doctoral students at SHU.
The symposium will consist of up to six 15-minute presentations from doctoral students across Sport, Health and BMRC showcasing a range of varied and exciting research. There will also be four breakout sessions where doctoral students will lead discussions on particular challenges they are finding with their research. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
*CALL FOR ABSTRACTS*
This year we are looking for 5 doctoral students in HWB to give oral presentations at the event. We are also inviting students to submit for a poster presentation. The posters selected will be displayed at the event and assessed by a panel of judges where the best posters will receive a prize.
We are asking all those interested in speaking or presenting a poster at the symposium to submit a one page abstract for review by the doctoral symposium committee by Monday 20th February.
All abstracts accepted for the symposium will be included in an abstract book available on the day of the event. Guidelines for the submissions of abstracts are available HWB Spring Doc Symp 2017 Abstract Guidelines.
If you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to get in contact with the Organising Committee .
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 22nd March.
