This session addresses four key questions:

  1. What is a PhD and a DProf?
  2. What is research?
  3. What is epistemology?
  4. What is science?
  5. What is the role of a research question?
  6. What is a good research question?
  7. Importance of history.

This session is part of the PhD Student Workshop Series run by the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing but open to all SHU Doctoral Students.

The PGR Skills workshops are designed to help you with your doctoral studies. They address generic aspects of undertaking a research degree and reflect the skills identified in the Researcher Development Framework (RDF).

These will be hands-on sessions which should be enjoyable and informative.

All workshops in this series will be held on Collegiate Campus.
