What Next? Career Planning for Researchers

An in-person workshop to consider the question “What Next?” in respect of career planning for researchers

In the workshop, participants will learn how to develop long term self-management skills for future career progressions.  The session will consider the current job market and provide advice on how to keep up to date with relevant labour market intelligence to support career progression.  It will also  look at the hidden job market and how to use networking for successful job search, spending time on the application and selection process in particular looking at CV’s and interview skills.  Participants will have an opportunity to think about their current skills and knowledge and how to develop them to progress in their chosen career.

This session will be facilitated by Heather Livingston from Skillfluence.  Heather is an experienced trainer, facilitator and coach.  She specialises in helping individuals and groups work positively towards effective career transition, change and development and is skilled in developing and delivering workshops to help people successfully develop and progress in their careers with confidence and purpose.
