A Guide to Ethics and Ethics Review for CCRI PGRs

This session, is part of the CCRI rolling induction series which is designed to complement the induction events delivered by the Doctoral School.
The session is led by Dr Ruth Deller, Reader in Media & Communication and Ethics Lead for the Culture & Creativity Research Institute.
It will cover:
- a) ethics principles and considerations with specific reference to the CCRI context
- b) PGR ethics training and project approval requirements
- c) nuts and bolts of application for ethics approval and review via Converis including how and when to apply
This is also a great opportunity to meet Ruth, who is happy to offer guidance on any aspect of ethics review relating to your own PhD project.
Supports Researcher Development Objectives in Researcher Development Framework Domain C: Research Governance and Organisation
This session is highly recommended for all CCRI PGRs in their first year of study. It is also recommended for any CCRI PGR who wants to reflect on or discuss ethical issues or challenges in their project or who needs a refresher on processes of ethics review using the Converis system.
PGRs enrolled in other Research Institutes who are using Arts, Humanities or Cultural Studies methodologies are also most welcome to attend.
