This is the first in a series of discussion events aimed at all SHU doctoral and early career researchers. Join us to discuss key themes and put your questions to a panel of SHU staff and doctoral graduates.
This session will focus on 3 areas in the context of being a doctoral or early career researcher:
- Time management
- Networking
- Employability

The panel will consist of:
- Dr David Broom – PGRT Sport, researcher on local authority childhood obesity intervention, consultant, lecturer & also writer of journal articles
- Dr Oliver Couch – former London/Sheffield civil servant & SHU DBA alumnus
- Dr Keith Fildes – Researcher Development Adviser – well-networked across UK doctoral education. PhD in History and developer/manager of the SHaRD programme
- Professor Nicola Woodroofe – Head of BMRC, active researcher, doctoral supervisor & leader of SHU IMAGINE programme of cross-disciplinary working and networking
