Survey launched for Anandi Ramamurthy’s documentary on nursing and workplace racism

A new survey has been launched to help inform an upcoming documentary on nurse experiences of workplace racism, both during and before the coronavirus pandemic.

It is part of a Sheffield Hallam led project running in partnership with film company Migrant Media titled Nursing Narratives: Racism and the Pandemic. They are seeking to learn more about the different forms of racial discrimination and inequality encountered by health professionals since Covid-19 and more widely throughout their careers.

The findings are due to be presented through a feature-length documentary film, which is expected to be released in autumn 2021, as well as through other mediums including a written report.

“We want to understand the kinds of institutional and workplace racisms that all healthcare workers face” Professor Anandi Ramamurthy said.

The survey can be accessed here until February 2021, those who would like to be interviewed have an option to submit their contact details when completing the survey.
