Professor Paul Atkinson to present keynote speaker at University of Mexico City

Keynote

Professor of Design and Design History Paul Atkinson has been invited to be one of the keynote speakers at the New Horizons of Design Symposium on Research and Innovation in Design Graduate, which is to be held from 6 – 10 October 2014 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Besides being one of the most recognised universities in Latin America, its campus is one of the largest and most artistically detailed. It is a World Heritage site that was designed by some of Mexico’s best-known architects of the 20th century. Murals in the main campus were painted by some of the most recognized artists in Mexican history such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros. The UNAM is widely regarded by many university world rankings as the leading university of the Spanish-speaking world. You can find out more about the event here.

The subject of Paul’s keynote is 3D-printing and the likely impact that the new technology might have on the role of the industrial designer and design education.

Professor Paul Atkinson is Professor of Design and Design History at Sheffield Hallam University.
