Title: Boosting students’ learning through the Case Method: Analysing e-business Taobao

Abstract
Unlike lectures, case method classes unfold without a detailed script. In practice, they pursue opportunities and “teachable moments” that emerge throughout the discussion, and deftly guide students toward discovery and learning on multiple levels. The principles and techniques are developed, further, to help teaching staff fine-tune their approach to case method teaching, Dr. Cathy Leung offers a seminar on the art and craft of discussion leadership. The seminar based on the case Taobao has identified that the characteristics of the business ecosystem model, unique technology, strong brand and product and service quality are the internal drivers of successful internationalization.

Biography
Dr. Leung Miu Yee (Cathy) is currently a Senior Lecturer from Hang Seng University . Before joining higher education institution sector, she has worked in the e-commerce sector at Microsoft, Silicon Graphic Company and engaged in several e-business consultancy projects such as those for IBM prior to teaching at the higher education sector and then worked as research staff at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She conducted several PHD research seminars and guest lectures in other UK universities, Bristol University, University of Wales and Plymouth University. Dr. Leung also has broad working experience in international-level business strategy, e-entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and IT in business services.
