From Valley to Fishtail – Exhibition at Soft Ground Sheffield

From Valley to Fishtail Exhibition at Soft Ground Sheffield

Please join us for the private view of From Valley to Fishtail on Tuesday 24 January 1800-2000, at Soft Ground, Sheffield City Centre.

This exhibition responds to a SHU Go Global trip to Nepal which took place in September 2022. Students and staff from a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses worked individually and in small teams to gather and create content for a variety of outputs including: short films, animated interactive media, augmented reality and photography. The resulting works explore issues including: life in Sertshang Orphanage Home, Kathmandu, the poetic activism of indigenous feminist artists, and paid work opportunities devised by local women pushing against traditional expectations to be stay at home wives. The exhibition also gives an impression of the group’s experience of this unique country which has made a significant and lasting impact.

Refreshments are provided and entrance is free, but booking is essential. Further information and ticket reservations can be found here.
