Professor Lise Autogena speaks at ‘Art, Community & Identities in the Arctic – Best Practices for Children, Young People & Families’ conference at Ilisimatusarfik, University of Greenland (10- 11 May 2023).

Lise Autogena, Professor of Cross-Disciplinary Art, Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and founder/director of Narsaq International Research Station: Speaking across the Sea – an art project of children’s participation in democracy and international diplomacy.

The goal of the conference is to present and expand our understandings of Arctic sociocultural landscapes and ecologies by linking local art projects on social identity and community to increase both local understandings and respect for different perspectives on the living Arctic – as well as to strengthen a shared sense of belonging linking the diverse regions, languages and cultures
