‘The Co-op Connection’ – Professor Esther Johnson produces book celebrating the connection between ‘SHIPS in the SKY’ and the Co-op Society

In celebration of the co-operative movement and the direct connection that Professor Esther Johnson‘s social history arts research SHIPS in the SKY has to the Co-op Society; Esther has produced a 44-page full-colour book published by The Modernist Society. The book brings together a selection of project donations associated with the former Hull Co-operative Society Central Premises, alongside an assortment of delightful CWS and Co-op ephemera through the ages.

Esther has undertaken extensive research in the Co-op Archives in Manchester so linking to the launch of this publication, the Co-operative Archive will undertake a @shipsinthesky63 instagram takeover for a week from Friday 26th November 2021.
