The theme of the workshop was ‘exploring tensions in interdisciplinary collaborations’. Through a series of crafted activities embodied in the game ‘Initiate:Collaborate‘, developed by Claire and Steve, twenty participants were given the opportunity to explore the tensions and opportunities that bringing together the academic disciplines of design and health.

The workshop generated much discussion, insight as well as laughter as participants grappled with questions such as: ‘what does success in a design for health project look like?’ and ‘how do we build foundations for a successful collaboration?’.

Good Health Design and Lab4Living have been regular collaborators  since 2017. This workshop was one of two by members of the Lab4Living team at this year’s EAD conference; Dr Gemma Wheeler also facilitated a session which explored design’s role in measuring outcomes.
