REF

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the mechanism by which the quality of research in UK Higher Educations is assessed. REF2021 was the most recent assessment, with the next being scheduled for 2028.

The Culture & Creativity Research Institute submits to four Units of Assessment (UoAs) in the REF:

• UoA27: English Language and Literature
• UoA28: History
• UoA32: Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory
• UoA34: Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, Library and Information Management
