Monday 05 February 2018 – Lunchtime Seminar with Helen Fisher and Dr Claire Craig (Lab4Living, SHU)
Speakers: Helen Fisher and Dr Claire Craig, Lab4Living
Title: Design to Care
What is the role of design in exploring issues facing people at end of life?
What might design offer in the context of people in palliative care?
These are just two questions that Design to Care: a two year funded project by Marie Curie is seeking to answer.
In this lunchtime session Helen Fisher will share some of the insights gathered to date in terms of what people have identified as being important.
She will discuss some of the methods the research team have developed and explore some of the possible ways forward.
Helen will be joined by Dr Claire Craig who will reflect on the journey so far.
Helen Fisher is a Research Associate at the interdisciplinary research group Lab4Living. Follow Helen @HelenFisher_.
Claire Craig is Reader in Design and Creative Practice in Health in the Art & Design Research Centre (ADRC) and Co-Director of Lab4Living. Claire’s research focuses on the role of creative practices in improving quality of life and well-being for people living with dementia.
