Lab4Living – Redesigning mental health services in London
Lab4Living’s Claire Craig was recently invited to facilitate a series of master classes in London for occupational therapists wanting to deliver and embed the Lifestyle Matters approach into mental health services.
Lifestyle Matters is an intervention developed through research with older people in Sheffield. The original research was undertaken over ten years ago by Claire Craig and Gail Mountain and explored how older people could experience wellbeing through making changes in the way they engaged in day to day activities and in doing so to effectively re-design their lifestyles.
Claire was commissioned by Mental Health Services, Tower Hamlets, who were keen to explore whether the intervention might be effective for people accessing their services across London. An evaluation of the work will take place next year.
