Professor Lise Autogena delivers keynote at the National Gallery in London – 15 February 2018
Professor Lise Autogena and frequent collaborator Joshua Portway delivered a keynote at The National Gallery, London on 15 February 2018, for AALERT: an interdisciplinary meeting aiming to foster debate and dialogue about the role of arts and the artist in landscape and environmental research today.
Jointly sponsored by the Valuing Nature Network and Landscape Research Group, the meeting will explore and re-consider the contribution of the arts in shaping knowledge and communicating meaning in new interdisciplinary contexts of research around landscapes, the environment and ‘valuing nature’ agendas.
Situating these contributions in long established relationships between artistic, philosophical and expert practices, the event will specifically focus on exploring the agency of the artist, distinguishing the arts within research and embedding the arts in research process.
Lise Autogena is a Professor of Cross Disciplinary Art at Sheffield Hallam University’s Cultural, Communication and Computing Research Institute. Find out more about Lise’s work here.
