Professor Lise Autogena presents at ‘The New Green Deal’ event in Belgium – Thursday 06 February 2020
Professor Lise Autogena and Joshua Portway will be presenting their work Kuannersuit; Kvanefjeld and Weather Prediction by Numerical Process – A Forecast for Europe at The New Green Deal – a one day event on the Future of Energy at Snowball, Harelbeke in Belgium on Thursday 06 February 2020.
In 2019 the EU launched The New Green Deal as Europe’s ‘man on the moon moment’. An ambitious plan that would make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To achieve this Europe needs to end its reliance on fossil fuels and needs to re-think the use, production and distribution of energy.
The one-day event at Snowball will bring together the most innovative leaders in their field, including MIT Professor Pattie Maes, entrepreneurs, artists, data scientists, designers and researchers to explore the challenges and dangers related to the future of energy.
Organised by Gluon and Cleantech hub Snowball that have joined forces in 2019 to become a Regional STARTS Centre. The Regional European centre’s launch initiatives at the intersection of Science, Technology and Arts to stimulate digital disruptions and more inclusive and sustainable forms of innovation in the industry.
Professor Lise Autogena is an artist and a Professor of Cross-Disciplinary Art at the Cultural Communication and Computing Research Institute at Sheffield Hallam University. Find out more about her work here.
