Dr Alessandro Soranzo’s research referenced in new book on Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci: A Biography by Professor of History Walter Isaacson was published last month on 17 October 2017 and reveals Leonardo da Vinci visited a morgue to perfect Mona Lisa’s smile. The book contains references to Dr Alessandro Soranzo‘s research on Leonardo’s La Bella Principessa and her ‘uncatchable’ smile, in which the shape of her mouth appears to change according to view point.

Dr Alessandro Soranzo is a Reader in Psychology within the Faculty of Development and Society at Sheffield Hallam University. His main area of interest lies in the Psychology of Perception, including; Colour and Illumination Perception, Visual Illusions, Perception and Art, Virtual Reality, and Robotics.
