Lab4Living is recruiting!

Lab4Living recruits

As Lab4Living’s 100-Year Life project gets underway, we are recruiting to build our team.

Plans for the project, funded through Research England’s Expanding Excellence in England research fund, include a new creative working space, an international research hub and a Design4Ageing Academy. The project enables Lab4Living to expand its team of researchers and postgraduate students.

Professor of Art and Design

We are seeking the appointment of a Professor to join the Lab4Living leadership team and support the delivery of this funded research programme and contribute to the management, development, delivery and sustainability of Lab4Living and the wider Art and Design Research Centre (ADRC). We welcome applications from individuals whose research falls within the broad subject base of the ADRC.

As a key member of Lab4Living, the new post-holder will contribute to developing models of knowledge translation across academia and industry. The post-holder will be actively involved in the day-to-day running of L4L as well as mentoring staff including early career researchers.

Professor Paul Chamberlain, Principal Investigator on the 100-Year Life project and Co-Director of Lab4Living said:

“We are seeking individuals with vision, passion and determination to join our creative team and be part of this exciting opportunity.”

The Lab4Living environment

Within the ADRC, Design Futures is the Knowledge Transfer Unit, a centre for industrial collaboration with expertise in industrial and packaging design. Lab4Living researchers work closely with Design Futures Packaging on projects such as the Life Café kit production and Exhibition in a box projects.

Internationally, Lab4Living has strong partnerships in over 20 countries (from the Netherlands to New Zealand). The Lab has also created new spaces which bring the design and health community together, through the biennial Design4Health conferences and the Design For Health journal.
