Claire Craig shares design research with Welsh therapists

Lab4Living's Claire Craig meeting Welsh OTs

October saw Lab4Living’s Claire Craig spend two days in Wales working with Occupational Therapists across Wales sharing a range of research informed design interventions and resources.

Claire Sims, Head Occupational Therapist for ywel Dda UHB, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion County Councils and service lead Nicky Thomas specifically invited Claire to share her Journeying through Dementia programme and materials. These support individuals at the beginning of their dementia journey to continue to engage in activities they find meaningful.

Of the event Claire said, ‘It was fantastic to meet such an incredible group of committed therapists with an absolute passion for the individuals they work alongside. It has felt a real privilege’.

Claire will continue to work with the therapists over the next year as they pilot and evaluate a range of interventions developed by her and the Lab4Living team.

One of the participants, Alex Perrins, summed up the event in the following words ‘a fantastic day looking at toolkits to develop older adult mental health OT services. Dr. Claire Craig is an inspirational OT.’
