Design4Health 2013

The Lab4Living team would like to thank all the delegates, exhibitors and presenters from around the world, that came to Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University for the 2nd Design 4 Health event. There were 104 delegates representing a total of 19 different countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and USA.

This year we expanded on the previous format, including a 24 hour Design4Health challenge competition starting midday on the Monday, through the night to midday on the Tuesday. The conference delegates were welcomed to Sheffield on the Tuesday afternoon to view the presentations of the design challenge and vote for the Devices for Dignity People’s Choice Award. A panel of 4 judges selected a Judges choice award also. More about the competition can be found here.

The conference started on the Wednesday morning through to Friday afternoon with the exhibition opening on the Wednesday evening with a drinks reception.

We would like to thank all the keynote speakers, delegates and organisers for their contribution to the event and to the sponsors for their contribution. Our sponsors included Devices for Dignity, Creative Sheffield, KT-EQUAL and User-Centred Health Design which is part of the NIHR funded South Yorkshire CLAHRC (Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care) as well as Sheffield Hallam own Healthcare Technologies Hub and Faculty of Health and Wellbeing.

We hope that everyone enjoyed their time in Sheffield and found the event both useful from a network point of view and inspirational from a discourse perspective.
