Dr Claire Craig invited to European Academy of Design 2019 as a Hero of Design Research

Reader in Design Dr Claire Craig has been invited as a Hero of Design Research as part of the European Academy of Design 2019 (EAD2019) colloquium, taking place this April.

Claire will be working to demystify the design PhD in a special tutorial session with EAD Founder Professor Rachel Cooper and Professors Leon Cruickshank, Tilde Bekker and Martyn Evans. There will be open discussion with the Heroes to explore key themes and common experiences of the design PhD and findings will be collated and presented during the conference which is running from Tuesday 09 April to Friday 12 April 2019 at the University of Dundee.

The European Academy of Design is a voluntary community of academics and practitioners committed to fostering new and existing relationships, in an effort to increase knowledge of the discipline and deepen understanding of how design contributes to improving the quality of life.

Claire Craig is Reader in Design and Creative Practice in Health in the Art & Design Research Centre (ADRC) and Co-Director of the interdisciplinary research group Lab4Living. Claire’s research focuses on the role of creative practices in improving quality of life and well-being for people living with dementia.
