The 4th joint Royal Photographic Society Historical Group / SHU Photography Research Day

Saturday 02 April 2022, 1015-1630. Held online on Zoom.

The event organised by Janine Freeston (Royal Photographic Society) and Andrew Robinson (Sheffield Hallam University) is free to all SHU staff and students and includes presentations and papers by Royal Photographic Society members alongside Sheffield Hallam staff, alumni and current students.

Katy Carol, Associate Lecturer in Visual Culture History & Theory on Duchamp Tourism;

Sonya Robinson, Senior Lecturer in Photography titled The Withdrawn Image;

Adam Bennett, photographer and SHU alumnus Reframing the rural idyll: Exploring ecological value through landscape photography;

and Andrew Robinson, Senior Lecturer in Photography titled A Postcard from Lovers’ Leap: Landscape, Legend and the Picture Postcard.

The lunch break will also feature work by SHU students Ashleigh Goodyear and Frania Adamson.


The research symposium is organised jointly by the RPS Historical Group in collaboration with BA(Hons) Photography at Sheffield Hallam University.
