JUSTHEAT Summer Research Internship

JUSTHEAT’s UK team are recruiting for a paid internship at Sheffield Hallam University to support JUSTHEAT. The project (6 week full-time or 12 week part-time) will deliver a visual analysis of post-war media campaigns that promoted heating systems / transition.

Justheat: Looking backwards to move forwards is a three-year interdisciplinary, pan-European project to explore how major changes to home heating and heating technology over the last seventy years have been designed, managed and experienced, how they have impacted our lives and what lessons we might learn for the current transition to low carbon systems. Reader in Fine Art Dr Becky Shaw is lead artist and co-investigator.

The team is looking for someone with experience engaging with visual imagery either through creation (such as in fine art / visual communications, illustration / graphic design / film or design more broadly) or via image analysis methods such as in humanities research.

The internship is open to students at any institution in undergraduate or postgraduate taught education who are interested in studying for a postgraduate degree, or individuals not currently in higher education but who are thinking about returning to study for a postgraduate research degree.

Deadline 21st April 2023. More info and how to apply here: SHU Summer Research Internships Scheme
