Cathy Soreny blog post: The Stories Beyond Words project
PhD student Cathy Soreny was recently invited to write a blog post ‘The Stories Beyond Words project: creatively reworking and reclaiming time’ for Redefining Stammering (a website run by activist and clinicians in the field of stammering and dysfluency pride).
Cathy’s doctoral research project ‘Stories Beyond Words’ brings together people with communication impairments to explore voice and radical self-representation, co-creating immersive AV installations which challenge non-disabled listeners to rethink how they approach communication.
The blog explores our complex relationship with time. Read it here:
Cathy’s research is supervised by an interdisciplinary team: Prof Esther Johnson (ADMRC, socially focused filmmaker) Prof Claire Craig (Lab4Living, healthcare co-design) and Dr Jen Slater (Institute of Education, disability studies).
