Critical Arts in Health Network event 24 June: Resistance and Resilience. Working with Willow Withies
On Monday 24th June, the fourth in a series of critical arts in health events facilitated by ADRC PhD students Julie Walters and Sarah Smizz will consider Resistance and Resilience.
In this workshop we will attempt to make wearable structures with willow, and as we consider a quote from Tim Ingold’s book, Making, (Ingold 2013) we will discuss the ways in which the term resilience is used within health care, and how arts based practices may be seen and not seen as a form of resistance. We will also reflect on the place that basketry has in the history of mental health care.
The workshop takes place:
Mon 24 June 2019
