We wanted to draw attention to this upcoming seminar, which will be delivered both face-to-face and in Blackboard Collaborate (online, you can access from anywhere such as your office or home). Tony Smith has been doing problem-based learning in an online environment, using Blackboard Collaborate as part of this. Blackboard Collaborate is now available for use across the University (see the online demo), and this is an interesting example of its use in teaching.
Developing an online/blended learning PBL module for an international cohort
Led by Tony Smith and colleagues from Maastricht University
Thursday 6th December 12.30 – 14.00 Owen 1031 and online via Blackboard Collaborate
The Centre for Leadership in Health and Social Care (HWB) is part of a two and a half year ERASMUS Mundus project to develop, pilot and evaluate a master’s level module in Public Health Leadership, utilising advanced blended learning and problem based learning approaches via the Blackboard Collaborate (formally Elluminate) platform. This seminar will allow participants to gain first-hand experience of the capabilities of Blackboard Collaborate and encourage colleagues to explore their own teaching and learning practice.
