Turnitin will be upgraded at the beginning of September, and will see the launch of Turnitin2. You don’t need to do anything except note that Turnitin will not be available from 6pm on Saturday 4 September 2010 until 2am on Sunday 5 September 2010. You and your students will not be able to submit work nor view Originality Reports during this time.
Some of the enhancements in Turnitin2 include:
- Fully-formatted paper view. Formatted text, graphics, tables and charts are retained in all papers submitted
- New look and feel Originality Reports. Matches are differentiated using both numbers and colours, and there is the ability to ‘drill down’ on matches to see a list of additional sources that contain the same text. You will still be able to exclude quoted and bibliographic material and small matches
Look out for support sessions that will be provided following the upgrade. We also intend to explore other features of Turnitin during 2010/11.
