From 12 April-25 June it was possible to start preparing your 2010/11  Blackboard sites in the Blackboard 9 Site Development System.  Now you will notice that that system is no longer available because the Blackboard admin team has begun exporting the 2010/11 sites out of it in preparation for the upgrade.

The live system will be upgraded to Blackboard 9 starting at 5pm on 2 July.  In the week after the upgrade, your 2010/11 sites will be gradually imported back into the live system: they should all be in the live system by the week of 12 July at the latest.   2009/10 sites on shuspace will not have their content changed as a result of the upgrade.

If you started preparing your 2010/11 sites, then any changes you made will be reflected when it appears on the live system.  If you did not start preparing your 2010/11 sites, then your site will be the blank template for 2010/11.  You can continue to prepare your 2010/11 sites once they appear on shuspace by adding new materials and copying content from your live 2009/10 sites.  If you need a new 2010/11 site, then you can request one on the live system from 12 July onwards.

If you are using Blackboard with students during the summer and did not preview Blackboard 9 before the upgrade, you may want to attend one of our sessions scheduled for immediately after the upgrade.  There are also other sessions to help staff refresh their practice for 2010/11.
