Clinical Applications
VAC therapy is a system that uses continuous or intermittent negative pressure to create an environment that promotes wound healing by secondary intention.
VAC therapy can help to prepare the wound bed for closure, reduce oedema, promote granulation and manage exudate.
The Activac is used when patients are mobile and getting ready for discharge. If a patient is being discharged with VAC therapy, then the Activac and the box goes home with the patient.
