Clinical Applications

This air alternating cushion is suitable for ‘at risk’ patients with up to and including Category 4 pressure damage.

The air alternating cushion should be placed on top of the cushion in the patients bedside chair.

Ensure using the cushion does not destabilise the patients sitting balance or increase the sitting height of the patient.

Maximum weight limit 120kg

Not to be used for patients with unstable spinal fractures

Decontamination

In the event that the cushion is required to be sent away for cleaning the cushion should be placed in a red bag and left in the ward collection area where it will be collected by the hospitals mattress decontamination contractor.  The pump unit should be cleaned and returned to the Equipment Library as normal
