We will be sending you a monthly newsletter updating you on student stories, Sheffield Hallam news and study support resources so keep a look out! We also have our Orientation and Events calendar available online, and the Meet and Greet desk on level 5, Owen building is open until 22 September if you have any questions.

From all of us in the GoGlobal team, good luck for the year ahead.

Is your visa due to expire soon?

If you do not book a one-to-one appointment to see an immigration adviser at least 2 weeks before your visa is due to expire, then we may not be able to assist you with your application and you will have to send your documents off yourself.

You must attend a visa eligibility appointment before you can book a one-to-one appointment.

It is important that you attend a visa eligibility appointment at least two months before your visa is due to expire. You will be unable to get a CAS application form if you have not attended this appointment.

You can book a visa eligibility appointment by contacting the Student Help team on 0114 225 3813.

Wherever you’re from you belong with Culture Connect

Wherever you’re from, you belong – join our Culture Connect peer mentoring scheme and meet people from all over the world!

This mentoring scheme helps new students settle into university life. It is a great way to meet people from all over the world and learn about different cultures. You will be matched with a mentor who you will develop a one-to-one supportive mentoring relationship with.

If you are a returning student, then you can join as a mentor to help our students settle into life at university and in Sheffield.

You will share information about your cultures, experiences and traditions, as well as attend social activities and skills training sessions with other members.

Check out this great video from our mentors and mentees, where they talk about the benefits of joining the scheme:

It’s a fantastic way to meet students from the UK and abroad, and can help you to develop new and interesting skills too!
