Whilst it may seem some time away still, we have been considering our Christmas closure dates for this year.
Normally the University is open on Christmas Eve. This year, Christmas Eve falls on a Monday, which would mean opening the University for one day following the weekend.
Therefore, the Vice-Chancellor has kindly agreed that the University will close for the Christmas period on Friday 21 December 2018 and re-open again on Wednesday 2 January 2019.
This means we can all enjoy Monday 24 December as an extra day’s holiday; this will not impact on your annual leave allowance. However, please note that Friday 21 December constitutes a full working day.
I will communicate specific arrangements later in the year as normal, including library opening times over the Christmas closure period.
