Annual IT change restrictions period

This year, the University’s IT change restrictions period will run from Monday, 6 August.  In line with business best practice, this safeguards our IT systems, infrastructure and equipment during the most business critical period, allowing us to protect recruitment and create the best possible first impression for students.

Examples of changes that will be restricted include: the introduction of new IT services or adding features to existing ones, preventative maintenance or replacement of equipment, upgrades, correction of errors and even modifications to processes and procedures. These may be improvements but any change carries a degree of risk, so changes must provide enough business benefit to justify the risk they carry at this time.

IT changes will revert to the usual process after Friday 5 October.  In the meantime, your DTS contact will discuss with you any changes you may want to make for projects or start of year activities.
