Sustainability Fair Thursday 7th, 10am-2pm, Owen Main Entrance

On the 7th June, the Business, Sustainability and Compliance Team invite you to their Sustainability Fair which is taking place in Owen Main Entrance between 10am-2pm. The event celebrates the University’s environmental achievements over the past year as well as marking the close of the current behaviour change campaign ‘Think, Act, Save.’

Come and visit the stalls to learn more about the sustainability initiatives that are taking place across the University. You’ll also have a chance to meet some of our key external suppliers including Veolia, SYPTE and ofo to chat about how they incorporate sustainability into the services they provide.

The Students’ Union will be hosting a clothes swap as part of their ‘Donate Don’t Waste’ campaign. Feel free to bring in an item of clothing that you no longer love and if you spot something you like you can take it away for free! All leftover clothes at the end of the fair will be donated to be British Heart Foundation.

The event will also be in celebration of World Environment Day (5 June) with this year’s theme being ‘Beat Plastic Pollution.’ As a result, you will have the opportunity to find out what the University is doing to cut back on its plastic consumption and receive advice on how to reduce your own plastic usage on a daily basis.

The event is open for all staff and students so spread the word and encourage as many people as possible to attend! For further information, please contact environment@shu.ac.uk
