Estates have a new website through which updates relating to building projects, the Campus Plan and notifications of disruptions on campus. Read on for the full details from Estates as well as a link to the website where you can sign up for updates.
The Future Spaces website is the new (ish) Estates’ website; your online source of information for all things estates; active buildings projects, up to date information about the Campus Plan and disruption notifications.
Any and all staff who are interested in the work we are doing to maintain and improve our estate are invited to subscribe to to the website for live updates; once you have subscribed you’ll receive an email to your inbox to keep you in the loop about any Estates activity.
The Future Spaces website was re-launched earlier in the year with a new look, an interactive map of the
estate showing all our open jobs and their location as well as all the information about SHU’s Campus Plan. This is all part of ongoing work to improve how we capture and share information with colleagues across the university; providing a self-service, one-stop-shop for up to date estates and campus information online.
As well as signing up for email updates you’re also encouraged to engage with Estates online too; share feedback about the website, any building projects and the Campus Plan. Following the launch of our Campus Plan, it is a great time to promote two-way communication around activity on and around campus.
We’re doing it this way so all estates messages are consistent across the university, which will become more and more important as activity ramps up during phase 1 of the Campus Plan. The Programme Management Office within Estates intends to become the point of contact for information; via the feedback section on the website or EstatesPMO@shu.ac.uk .
There will be a lot of activity around the University over the next couple of years; and the team within Estates is developing new ways to consult on Estates’ projects. We want to gather feedback and capture ideas to better inform how we develop the estate. We also want to ensure everyone is informed, both for interest and also to minimise any disruption to the business as usual activities of the University. By using the website our intention is to only send information to those who want and need to receive it and have opted in through the subscribe function.
