Forum on the Fringe: a new way to contribute to the University Strategy

The University Leadership Forum has a pivotal role to play in turning our ambitious new strategy, ‘Transforming Lives’, into reality. The group has a wide membership and includes: PVCs, PVC Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments, plus every member of our four pillar boards. In terms of strategy delivery, the buck stops with them, but in number this group makes up a very small percentage of University staff.

We know that many more staff outside the forum have been inspired by the new strategy and have ideas and energy to contribute, and so the ‘Forum on the Fringe’ has been created.   The simple idea is to offer up some short events, run by forum members, for forum members, which draw more of us into the strategy implementation conversation and provoke some innovative thinking.

We begin with an interactive workshop on Wednesday 4 October, hosted by Professor Kevin Kerrigan, SBS.  To enable more staff to get involved, forum members have each been invited to bring along a guest from outside the immediate forum group.  Places are limited though, so book early!

Find out more by visiting the Forum on the Fringe blog, and if you’d like to get involved, please contact a member of the University Leadership Forum in your Faculty or Directorate. You can find a list of members at ULF membership (September 2017).
